editing

developmental editing - A big picture review of the arc of your material, presented as an editorial report and annotated manuscript with notes on general troubles and strengths.

line editing - (aka “stylistic editing”) House special! Company favorite! We love to do it. We can’t help but do it. A line-by-line assessment of tone, style, syntax, emotion, word choice, pacing, and flow.

copy editing - Closer to proofreading, focused on grammatical mechanics and adherence to a given style guide (ap, ama, etc).

proofreading - This comes after someone has already copy edited. Termite-style focus; soon to be obsolete for humans but the AI is not there yet, so you can still hire ejr editorial to proofread.

SEO copy writing / UX - Developing your brand and need help composing your supporting texts? Mission, executive summary, pitch decks, web copy — we’re here to help. All web copy is thoughtfully SEO optimized to help you get ahead. We work collaboratively with you, offering you generative writing prompts to ensure your ideas are at the core of what we compose. We’re also glad to work hand-in-hand with your web designer to codesign text with graphics for an elegantly told story in an intuitively navigable site.

documentary script development - EJ is a passionate documentarian and would like to help you develop your project. Story production, composing transcripts into scripts, et cetera.

love letters - Totally dangerous, really shouldn’t, but… we will. ONE per customer. The rest is up to you.

articles - We are very flexible in this arena! For example, we’ve ghosts authored “a definitive guide to houseplant care,” which would be wholly disconcerting if we weren’t such thorough researchers. Us? Plant experts? We are not! But we became them for this job, and the client was ecstatic with what we delivered. Hire us to write about: anything.
